The legendary ballet "Romeo and Juliet" staged by Leonid Lavrovsky returned to the historical stage of the Bolshoi Theater. The first five premiere performances took place from April 4 to April 7. Ekaterina Krysanova - People’s Artist of Russian Federation!
Ekaterina Krysanova, Principal dancer of Bolshoi theatre has been awarded a title of Honoured Artist of South Ossetia Republic. She devoted this award to her ballet coach Svetlana Adyrkhaeva who passed away this year.
She says: “Every award is an incredible honour, but this award is very special for me and I want to devote it to my coach Svetlana Adyrkhaeva who put her heart in me”.
The Decree specifies, that this honorary title was awarded to the Principal of Bolshoi for distinguished achievements in the art of dance and strengthening cultural ties between people of Russia and South Ossetia.

On August 27, 2023 Svetlana Adyrkhaeva, the brilliant ballerina of Bolshois’s Golden Era, People’s Artist of Soviet Union has passed away.
Disciple of Galina Ulanova and Marina Semyonova, a true Yury Grigorovich ballerina, she gracefully combined in her dance a brilliant skills of classic school, elegance of body lines with authentic oriental expressiveness and genuine dramatic flair.
Svetlana Adyrkhaeva was a unique teacher and the one and only mentor of Ekaterina Krysanova since her first steps at the Bolshoi Theatre.
An irreplaceable loss for her students and all ballet fans.
We will cherish the memory of a great ballerina and a great human being.

For the first time, Ekaterina Krysanova will take part in the annual XVI World Ballet Festival in Japan. The performances will take place at the Bunka Kaikan Theatre in Tokyo from August 13th to 22nd, 2021. Japan Performing Arts Foundation has published the final programme for all participants. Ekaterina Krysanova and her partner Kim Kimin will perform pas de deux from the ballet “Le Corsaire” in programme A from August 13th to 16th and pas de deux from the ballet “Don Quixote” in programme B from August 19th to 22nd.
On July 1st-4th, the Bolshoi Theatre presented the world premiere of “The Seagull”, a ballet choreographed by Yuri Posokhov, directed by Alexander Molochnikov, and set to music by Ilya Demutsky.
